AFSA to sponsor Legislative Awareness Challenge

  • Published
Sheppard's Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 1054 is sponsoring a Legislative Awareness Challenge at the Sheppard Base Exchange Oct. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. to complement the AFSA's Organizations Legislative Awareness Week.

Information will be available on issues that affect the military and attendees will learn about AFSA and have the opportunity to become a member of Chapter 1054.

AFSA is the premier international Air Force enlisted organization, dedicated exclusively to the people behind the stripes, active duty and retired. Each year Congress makes hundreds of decisions that directly affect the lives of enlisted people and their families.

Every day AFSA works with members of Congress on important issues such as medical care, pay, commissary privileges and education benefits. AFSA has earned the recognition and respect of Washington's leaders for its sustained role as the "Voice of the Enlisted".

The AFSA mission is to advocate an improved quality-of-life and economic fairness in support of the well-being of all Air Force enlisted personnel and their families.

Those that can correctly answer the following question and bring the answer with them to the next AFSA Chapter 1054 general membership meeting in November at the Sheppard Club will have their name put into a drawing for prizes:

What is the only way to end a Senate filibuster, what constitutes a "super majority", and what condition does this majority trigger?
