The Wichita Falls North Redskins defeated Bowie North 14-6 for the conference Top of Texas North Conference Pee-Wee championship Oct. 11, earning the right to home field advantage during the play-offs.

The Redskins, comprised of military family members aged 8- 10 years-old stationed at Sheppard, finished the regular season 6-1.

The Redskins continue their quest to become the Top of Texas league champions this Saturday against the City View Mustangs. The game will be played at what is considered the Redskins' home field, Griffin Field, in Iowa Park at 6 p.m..

"We have no individual superstars; we have a team of dedicated players who play their hearts out for their teammates on the field at any time, whether at practice or in the games," Coach Tre' Baham said.

Out of the 21 players that began the season, only seven of those had previously played tackle football. Averaging over 15 points a game, while holding their opponents to six points including three shut outs, the rookie players progressed quickly. The team has proven to be a powerhouse on both sides of the ball.
