The government Most Efficient Organization teams were selected to run Sheppard's fitness centers, trainer development and technical training support services; while Defense Support Services of Mt. Currently, the decision is tentative until any protests are resolved. General Mannon said after the 10 days, Sheppard will be able to lay out a more specific timeline for the next 12 months. In all, 418 jobs at Sheppard are affected by this decision - 328 from the 82nd CES, 33 from technical training support services, 19 from the fitness centers and 38 from trainer development. Throughout the town hall meeting, General Mannon stressed that while the future may not be as certain for Sheppard's civilians, like it is for the military members affected, both groups will be taken care of. "You (civilians) are part of Team Sheppard," he said. "We are only as successful as you have made us over the last 61 years. The civilian workforce here is the backbone of Sheppard."
