82nd TRW commander to head up Intelligence and Air, Space and Information Operations

Brig. Gen. Richard Devereaux, 82nd Training Wing commander, will be the next director of Intelligence and Air, Space and Information Operations at headquarters Air Education and Training Command at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, according to a senior leader announcement July 10. 

This supersedes a previous assignment announcement for the general, who was then assigned to be deputy director, Air, Space, and Information Operations, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill.

He will be in charge and responsible for operating the world's largest training organization, providing training through 1,900 officer and enlisted courses at 14 wings, 2 groups, and 2 squadrons. The organizations graduate over 216,000 students annually.

General Devereaux will be in charge of basic military training, undergraduate flying training, initial skills technical training, post graduate combat crew training and advanced supplemental technical training.

In addition he will command AETC's focal point for air expeditionary force planning, war & contingency readiness exercises, weather, air traffic control, and intelligence programs.

Brig. Gen. O.G. Mannon will assume command of the 82nd TRW at a change-of-command ceremony July 17.
