Sheppard's Behavioral Health Team was named best in the Air Force for 2007, and two Sheppard officers also earned 2007 Air Force Medical Service Awards for being the best in their fields.

Capt. Robert Noble, an audiologist with the 82nd Medical Operations Squadron, was named Air Force Audiologist/Speech Pathologist of the year.

"I'm pretty proud of their efforts and the work they do," said Col. James King, 82nd MDG commander. "It's just an example of the staff we have here. They're just one of our many winners. Unfortunately, everyone can't be recognized at the (Air Education and Training Command) level, but our entire staff does a fantastic job."

Capt. Antony Tate, 882nd Training Support Squadron, received the Surgeon General's Award for Medical Information Services.

"We are very thrilled that Captain Tate was awarded this distinction among the very 'best of the best' nominated from across the Air Force Medical Service," said 882nd Training Group Commander Col. Nancy Dezell.

Colonel Dezell said Captain Tate received the award because of his extensive work as chief of the groups Information Systems Operations, leading a team of 14 in supporting medical training worth $364 million. In addition to this and numerous other achievements, Captain Tate helped create the student accountability system currently used in every Airmen in Training dorm at Sheppard.
