The event was 82nd Training Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Richard Devereaux's way of saying good job to Sheppard members going 143 days without a driving under the influence incident. It was also an opportunity to refocus on DUI prevention as the holiday seasons approach. (U.S. Air Force photo/Harry Tonemah)

Nancy Dezell demonstrate Oct. 5 how difficult it is to complete something as simple as a high-five when vision and judgment is impaired at the "DUI Free - Prevention is Key" picnic at the Sheppard Club. Team Sheppard members were rewarded with the Italian-style picnic for going 143 days without a driving under the influence incident, but also urged to refocus as people begin to prepare for the holiday season. Brig. Gen. Richard Devereaux, 82nd Training Wing commander, hosted a "DUI Free - Prevention is Key" picnic Oct. 5 at the Sheppard club to ensure Team Sheppard members remain focused - unlike the impaired view through these "beer goggles" - as people prepare for the holiday season. Team Sheppard members were treated to an Italian-style picnic at the Sheppard Club to congratulate them on a job well done for going 143 days without a driving under the influence incident, and to refocus prevention efforts.
