Bowl-a-Thon raises $1,500 for local charity Published Sept. 18, 2007 By Master Sgt. Mark Paris 366th Training Squadron SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- More than 200 Team Sheppard members laced up their bowling shoes and flexed their 9-pin muscle Sept. 13-14 at the annual Combined Federal Campaign Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser. Tech. Sgts. Jason Weill and Matthew Beauregard, coordinators for the event, said the two-day event raised $1,500 for the North Texas Area United Way. The coordinators presented a jeck to Ruth Jones and Mindy Williamson, both with the United way, at the end of Friday's rounds. Although the fundraiser was intended to help a local charity, it didn't keep the competitive nature out of the bowling alley. The 782nd Training Group was named the overal winner of the Bowl-a-Thon. There will be more opportunities to participate in the annual campaign for those who weren't able to compete in the fundraiser. More events are on the horizon, and, as always, people wishing to make personal donations may do so by contacting their CFC representative.
