SRA good beginning for new motorcycle riders Published May 24, 2007 Sheppard Riders Association SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Sheppard Riders Association is a military riding group that was set up here to promote safe riding habits among our Air Force and civilian members. There are no requirements to be a member other than owning a motorcycle or just being interested in hanging around others who own one. Most of you are members without even being aware of it. You are automatically a member if you work on Sheppard and own a motorcycle, whether you are military or civilian. We have monthly meetings to talk about local safety issues as well as upcoming rides in the local area. Our meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of every month at the enlisted club. Although these meeting are not mandatory, it is highly encouraged that all attend. We have a core group of dedicated members who help the local community with their charity runs. We have others who organize rides and meetings downtown to help promote safety among non-military personnel. We are always looking for people to step forward and set up a ride or to organize an event. There are elected members such as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
