SOSC announces 2007 scholarship winners Published May 11, 2007 By Jan Saville SOSC scholarship chairperson SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Sheppard Officers' Spouses' Club awarded $12,750 in scholarships this year to Team Sheppard dependents, both high school seniors and military spouses, at the Sheppard Club, May 7. This year the competition was particularly tough due to the excellent level of participants. The funding for the scholarships was provided from the proceeds of the annual Hangar Holiday and Thrift Shop earnings. The High School recipients were: Matthew Tisdale of Rider High School, Kyle Weldon of Burkburnett High School, Abigail McKay of Bright Ideas' University High School, Carly Moree of Burkburnett High School, Catherine Orozco of Agape Christian School, Erica Garnett of Hirschi High School, Holly Williams of Rider High School and Christina Cerruti of Burkburnett High School. The spouse recipients were: Lynette Watts, Shelly Mullen, Eva Urbinelli and Kathy Vossler. A special thanks goes to the 2007 judges, Sue Yingling, Patsy Klein, Darryl Rhude and Darrell Coleman for the hours spent in judging the applications. A special thank you also goes to the participants of the Hangar Holiday Bazaar and to the many hard working members of the SOSC; they are the ones that made these awards and many other charitable donations possible.
