Sheppard Fuels Airman Leads Base Beautification Initiative Published Nov. 14, 2025 By Courtesy of 364th Training Squadron 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Members of Team Sheppard are working to enhance the environment on base, launching a quarterly beautification project aimed at fostering pride and improving quality of life for all personnel. The initiative, spearheaded by U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Trevor Olson, an instructor with the 364th Training Squadron, began earlier this year, mobilizing volunteers from across the installation to improve cleanliness and enhance base aesthetics. The most recent event, held Sept. 6, 2025, brought together 100 volunteers from five squadrons who collectively removed approximately 1,500 pounds of waste from the base grounds. “I want to foster widespread ownership and pride in Sheppard Air Force Base,” Olson said, emphasizing the motivation behind his commitment to improving the base’s appearance. He plans to continue the beautification project quarterly, rotating responsibility among squadrons. By promoting a cleaner, more attractive environment, Olson hopes to boost morale and reinforce Sheppard’s reputation as an Air Force center of excellence. In addition to leading environmental improvements, Olson serves as an instructor at the Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants Schoolhouse, where he teaches the Petroleum Logistics Management Course. His student-centered approach incorporates interactive learning and critical thinking, helping newly selected staff sergeants meet their 7-level upgrade requirements in a dynamic classroom setting. By combining environmental stewardship with innovative instruction, Olson exemplifies the leadership and dedication that makes Sheppard AFB a premier training hub and vibrant community.
