Commander’s Wingman of Choice: L’Esperance Published Nov. 20, 2015 By Staff Reports 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Tech. Sgt. Adam L'Esperance, 364th Training Squadron instructor supervisor and native of Big Bear Lake, Calif., has been in the Air Force for 13 years and is the Commander's Wingman of Choice at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Nov. 17-23, 2015. L'Esperance is an instructor for the telecommunications flight and was appointed as an instructor supervisor and assistant flight chief for telecommunications. L'Esperance is married to Kara L'Esperance and has an 8-year-old son, Travis, and a 5-year-old daughter, Katelyn. "My greatest accomplishment is my children showing others dignity and respect," he said. L'Esperance has completed his Community College of the Air Force degrees for Instructor Technology and Electronic Systems Technology and has an Associate of Arts from the University of Maryland University College. His goals include completing his bachelor's degree next year, achieving Master Sergeant next cycle and making a 100 percent on his next physical fitness test. He enjoys bodybuilding, martial arts, attending college and his family. "Technical Sergeant L'Esperance has been a true asset to the flight and squadron since his arrival to Sheppard Air Force Base two years ago," said Master Sgt. Jason Thomas, L'Esperance's supervisor. "During these past two years, Technical Sergeant L'Esperance has accomplished numerous accolades and recognized by his peers as an 'outstanding performer,' and a true 'Role Model NCO' that all our NCO's want to emulate." "Technical Sergeant L'Esperance was not appointed by rank as he's junior to other Technical Sergeants within the Flight, but due to his outstanding work ethic and 'can-do' attitude, earned him the title and responsibilities," Thomas continued. "He is very compassionate and cares about the mission and local community. During our past season of freezing snow days and everyone released for duty, Technical Sergeant L'Esperance and his family were out on the roads delivering food baskets to local community families." "Technical Sergeant L'Esperance exemplifies the joint service and force culture and core values and takes training seriously," Thomas said. "He has been recognized and voted as 'Instructor of the Month' by his students multiple times during his two years. L'Esperance sacrifices family time to help fellow Airman, Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers in need, whether it be additional training, personal issues, or even weekend details or events put on by the flight that isn't mandatory for him to attend. His selfless views of 'one team, one fight' show through his actions, his character, and as an NCO." Commander's comments: "Technical Sergeant L'Esperance is an incredible asset to this organization and I am proud to have him on board," said Lt. Col. Andrew Hosler, 364th TRS commander. "He has a tough job and duties to fill within his rank as a military training instructor supervisor and assistant flight chief; he's doing a phenomenal job. His ability to guide, mentor and inspire our young Airmen in Training with such dedication and great attitude is extraordinary. I look forward to see what else he can do for the 364th Training Squadron and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend him for this award as he is most deserving and epitomizes the Wingman of Choice concept."
