Boerger named 'Instructor of the Week'

Staff Sgt. Mary Boerger, 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 13 instructor and native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., has been in the Air Force for eight years and is the Instructor of the Week at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Nov. 17-23, 2015.

How she impacts the training mission:

"Staff Sergeant Boerger provides formal classroom and flightline instruction to Active duty and Air National Guard KC-135 Stratotanker instrument and flight control systems technicians," said Tech. Sgt. Christopher Putnat, Boerger's flight chief. "She serves as a subject-matter expert and provides support to resolve training and maintenance deficiencies for the 92nd and 141st Air Refueling Wings. Boerger also manages Detachment 13's curriculum and student feedback programs."

Most significant accomplishments:

"This year Sergeant Boerger was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education and Development," Putnat said. "She surpassed the 1000 hour teaching milestone and achieved the level one Community College of the Air Force instructor certification. She was also recently coined on behalf on the 982nd Inspector General for superior performance during a staff assistance visit."
