Commander’s Wingman of Choice: Scott-Torres Published Oct. 23, 2015 By Staff Reports 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Airman 1st Class Cynthia Scott-Torres, 82 Training Wing military justice paralegal and native of Visalia, Calif., has been in the Air Force for two years and two months and is the Commander's Wingman of Choice at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Oct., 20-26, 2015. Scott-Torres ensures that good order and discipline is achieved by processing non-judicial punishment and court-martial actions. Scott-Torres is married to Desiree and enjoys outdoor activities and cooking. She is continues to further her education at the American Military University and is working toward achieving her Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice. "My greatest accomplishment in life is joining the U.S. Air Force," she said. "The decision to join is the best decision I have made and it has provided me with opportunities that have changed my life forever." "Criminal Justice is my passion," she continued. "I want to continue to serve the U.S. Air Force in a law enforcement role because I feel in doing so I am further helping to protect society and giving back to society in a positive way. Another goal is to have children." Commander's Comments: "Her desire to serve others is immeasurable," said Master Sgt. Karin Burke, law office superintendent, on behalf of the commander. "Her goals are focused on growing as a person, but also on making society a better place. As a first term Airman, she performs as an NCO. She is a great follower, but leads our office with her maturity and ability to take a task and understand how small task enables completion of the overall Air Force Mission. Her critical thinking skills and extreme initiative allow her to complete any task with maturity. Our office is successful because of the work Cynthia does. The Air Force needs more Airmen like Airman 1st Class Scott-Torres."
