Master Sgt. James Wagner II, 373rd Training Squadron training curriculum superintendent and native of Ft. Smith, Ark., has been in the Air Force for nearly 18 years and is the commander's Wingman of Choice at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Oct. 13-19, 2015.

Wagner has a 4-year-old daughter, Bella, and an 11-year-old son, Joshua and enjoys anything with the great outdoors to include camping, fishing and hunting. He currently has his Community College of the Air Force degree in Avionics Systems Technology and continues to work toward achieving his Master's degree in Organizational Management.

"I come from a long line of military personnel," Wagner said. "Two grandfathers and my uncle served in the Army and my Father served in the Navy. Both grandfathers saw action in Korea, and my father served during Vietnam. My children inspire me to continual better myself as a person. As a role model to them, it is my duty to excel in all avenues of my life."

Commander's comments:

"With less than six months of experience, he single-handedly scrutinized CCAF instructor requirements for over 400 instructors, in 13 career fields, throughout 332 accredited maintenance courses, yielding zero findings during the 2014 Compliance Requirement Visit," said Maj. Jeffrey Hunziker, 373rd TRS commander. "Inspectors benchmarked his programs and stated, 'Well done! -- Best the 373rd TRS records have looked in more than five years!' Wagner was hand selected for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile transition with Air Force Global Strike team. His coordination with three wings has identified key training curriculum and training device goals assisting Air Education and Training Command and Global Strike with the future merger. Wagner is hands down our go-to Senior NCO.  Every time I assign anything to Master Sgt. Wagner, I'm certain that exceptional results will be his minimum standard."
