Hansen, hydraulic systems student, earns ACE Published Oct. 8, 2015 By Staff Reports 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Staff Sgt. Huberr Hansen, 364th Training Squadron hydraulic systems apprentice and native of Stoughton, Wis., has been in the Air Force for seven years and seven months and scored 100 percent on all his tests in the hydraulic systems apprentice course. As a hydraulic systems apprentice, Hansen will test, maintain and fix hydraulic systems vital to the operation of aircraft landing gear, flaps, flight control surfaces, and brakes. Hansen graduated from the course Oct. 8, 2015. Why he joined: I joined to serve my country and it has been a family tradition. Family: My father is a retired Master Sgt. Michael Hansen, and my mother is Arla Dollars. I have two sisters, Hannah Hansen and Hayley Hansen. Hobbies: I enjoy automotive repair and restoration, auto racing, woodworking and riding motorcycles. Favorite aspect of job: I like knowing that everything I do maters, my work makes a difference and the satisfaction of knowing I fixed a jet as it takes off. Most memorable Air Force experience: The incredible places I've seen and the lifelong friends I've made along the way. How he makes responsible choices: By having integrity in every decision I make, and understanding the real consequences of my actions. "Hansen made sure to put forth his best effort at all times and was able to use his prior aircraft maintenance knowledge when taking the course," said Staff Sgt. Tami Osolin, Hansen's instructor. "The class was able to look to him and his experience for assistance and guidance, especially during the group labs. He always kept the class focused on the goal and the mission as well as keeping good order and discipline within the classroom. Hansen is a perfect example of someone who fosters the Air Force Core Values."
