Gambrel, hydraulic systems student, earns ACE Published Oct. 8, 2015 By Staff Reports 82nd Training Wing SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Airman 1st Class Tamars Gambrel, 364th Training Squadron hydraulic systems apprentice and native of Victorville, Calif., has been in the Air Force for five months and scored 100 percent on all his tests in the hydraulic systems apprentice course. As a hydraulic systems apprentice, Gambrel will test, maintain and fix hydraulic systems vital to the operation of aircraft landing gear, flaps, flight control surfaces, and brakes. Gambrel graduated from the course Oct. 8, 2015. Why he joined: I joined to pursue a higher education and to help save lives. Family: My mother is Vera Walker and I have two sisters, Shneva Carter and Breanna Bogan. Hobbies: I enjoy reading, writing, and playing sports. Favorite aspect of job: I like knowing that I will be able to fix a part on the plane and get it running again. Most memorable Air Force experience: Basic Military Training. How he makes responsible choices: I keep the core values regardless of what is going on around me. "Gambrel put forth his best effort and was always striving to do his absolute best," said Staff Sgt. Tami Osolin, Gambrel's instructor. "He takes a lot of pride in everything he does and always tries to exceed expectations. Gambrel always has a positive attitude and takes on any task required with a smile and a can do attitude. He will be a wonderful addition to his new unit and a great asset to the Air Force."
