"I am 34 years old and I was born in Ghana, West Africa," said Quaynor. "Growing up my dream has always been to become a nurse, especially watching how dedicated my mother was to the profession as an operating room nurse and mid-wife. In 2001, I emigrated from Ghana to the United States with the hope for better opportunities and a better future. Being offered the rare opportunity to migrate to the United States has been a chance in a lifetime. It was therefore an easy decision to join the United States Air Force to serve the country that welcomed me. I have always believed in the power of education and have avidly taken college classes wherever I have transferred to, in pursuit of my ultimate goal to obtain a master's degree in nursing. My passion for service propels me to volunteer in different organizations such as the assisted living facilities and at the local women's shelters. My goal is to apply to the Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program for the 2016 academic year."
