Retiree Appreciation Day scheduled May 1 2015

The 28th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day is scheduled to take place May 1, 2015, at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas Club from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for registration with beverages and lunch options available.  Activities for the day will feature an inspiring presentation by the guest speaker, U.S. Air Force Retired Col. Bernard Talley. Talley is a Vietnam War Veteran, former POW, and two-time Silver Star recipient. 

Guests will have the opportunity to hear about the latest updates regarding Sheppard and its mission, see a K-9 dog demonstration, and also participate in a bus tour of the base.

The base tour will include the outdoor recreation facilities, Force Support Squadron's Commons Building, where the Library and ITT services are located, Retiree Activities Office, and  Heritage Center Museum. 

After Talley speaks, guests will be able to visit the many informational booths to include TRICARE, MiCare medical enrollment, recreational and legal services, survivor's benefits and the Texas Veteran's Commission. 

Be sure not to miss the chance to win many door prizes throughout the day like a one-night cabin rental at Lake Texoma Sheppard Annex, AAFES gift cards, Texas Rangers tickets, and more.
