Tops In Blue is coming here Aug. 28, 2014, to the Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Admission is free and the doors open at 6:30 p.m., while the show starts at 7 p.m.

This year the Tops In Blue team is celebrating its 60th year of performances.

"The legacy of Tops In Blue displays everything an Airman should be," said Airman 1st Class Darius Green, 80th Operations Support Squadron air traffic control apprentice.

According to their official website, "Tops In Blue is an all-active duty U.S. Air Force special unit made up of amateur performers selected for their entertainment abilities and are composed of 35 to 40 vocalists, musicians, dancers and technicians."

"Seeing the effect they have on people from deployed troops to morale of the enlisted, they're showing the civilians a side of the military they rarely get to see," Green said.

The unit primarily performs for military personnel and their families, but has also been known to perform for the civilian population as well.

According to official statistics, Tops In Blue have performed at six world fairs, more than 100 state fairs and festivals and have performed more than 7,000 shows since 1953.
