TMO changes in shipping procedures Published July 24, 2014 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Defense Personal Property System started in 2011 and Sheppard's transportation office became the Personal Property Process Office (PPPO) that processes all shipping documentation to the responsible Joint Personal Property Shipping Office-South Central (JPPSO-SC) in San Antonio, Texas. - Ref DTR IV chapter 401 G.1.c has mandated that members who have PCS'ed before use the move.mil website to process their shipment however, all retirees, separatees and first term Airmen must be counseled face-to-face regarding their shipments. - For members utilizing the move.mil website, they will be able to process their shipment application through the site. During this process of your application members will become their counselor and their own agent for the move. If problems occur when navigating on the site or technical issues arise such as (obtaining passwords, pop-up blockers and timing out) please contact the DPS help desk at 1-800-862-2176. If there are any questions or concerns about the move.mil website, please contact our customer service at 676-5499/2457. - While processing the shipment through move.mil be sure to read all information provided such as (member and TSP responsibilities, list of prohibited items, full replacement value (FRV), and how to complete the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS). Once shipment has been processed through move.mil you must bring your documents and orders into your local TMO office. - All members will be required to provide a three week notice and alternate dates to the booking office (JPPSO-SC) during summer peak season, which is May through September 2014. - TMO will forward applications to the responsible booking office in San Antonio "Joint Personal Property Shipping Office- South Central" (JPPSO-SC) and the booking office will offer the shipments to a transportation service provider (TSP). Once the offer has been accepted by the TSP, the TSP will contact the member directly. - Once contacted by the TSP, you become the agent for your own move. Things to remember, when being contacted by your TSP: Obtain the complete name and telephone number of the TSP The TSP will assign a movement coordinator to you for your move If any changes occur such as packing or pickup dates, arrange your delivery of shipments at the destination, you'll contact your movement coordinator or TSP directly. - If any problems occur or you need assistance during your scheduled packing or pickup dates with the assigned agent or TSP, please contact the local TMO office for a Quality Assurance Inspector (QA) for assistance at: 676-5294 or 2763. However, QA inspectors do have a daily schedule of the scheduled moves for the base populace. They will be stopping by members' residences' and checking with customers to survey the service rendered by the assigned TSP. A few tips: Review/Read all information on the Member/TSP responsibilities on the DPS website, be proactive and remember you become your own agent and you are in direct control of your shipment.
