2014 American Airman Video Contest begins

The 2014 American Airman Video Contest was announced Friday, 27 June, with coverage on AF.mil, Air Force Broadcasting Service, Air Force Portal and Air Force Social Media.

The process and instructions are as follows:

· Airmen will upload their 30-second-or-less video to a personal YouTube channel and email their name, rank, base, unit and video link to the AFPAA Social Media team at usafvideos@us.af.mil .

· Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on July 29, 2014.

· On Aug. 4, Air Force Public Affairs Agency will send MAJCOM Public Affairs shops links to videos from Airmen who fall under their MAJCOM's for proper vetting AND to select a MAJCOM-level winning video.

· MAJCOM's need to identify a POC to work with the AF Social Media team.

· Email your POC's name and contact information to afpaa.hq.socialmedia@us.af.mil by July 2, 2014.

Finalists will be notified via email from usafvideo@us.af.mil on Aug. 12, 2014 and their videos will be uploaded to the Air Force BlueTube channel on YouTube. Video "Likes" will be recorded until 12 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on Aug. 22, 2014.

The winner will be told via chain of command on Aug. 22, 2014 and will be announced on all Air Force level communication channels.

All approved videos will be considered for use in an 'Air Force Story' compilation video that will be shown at the AFA conference in Washington, D.C. in September.
