ALS Class 14-6 graduates 10; Johnson takes home Levitow

Team Sheppard congratulates 10 graduates from the five-week Airman Leadership School June 26th.

The following individuals excelled in their class and were awarded for their effort during the graduation ceremony:

The John L. Levitow Award went to Senior Airman Matthew Johnson, 80th Operations Support Squadron. This formal award is the highest honor awarded to a graduate and named after the Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant John L. Levitow.

It is presented to the student who attains the highest cumulative score on all evaluations, demonstrates leadership, teamwork, military bearing and dedication to the spirit and mission of the ALS, as well as the NCO corps. This award recipient is the most Distinguished Graduate.

The Academic Achievement award went to Senior Airman James Gonzales, 433rd Civil Engineering Squadron. This award denotes excellence as a scholar and is earned by the student with the top academic scores in the class.

The Commandant Award went to Senior Airman Aaron Ray, 123rd Air Combat Squadron. The Commandant Leadership Award recognizes the student who best displays professional military leadership qualities and makes the most significant contribution to the overall success of the class.
 
Selection is based upon demonstrated leadership, positive attitude and initiative.
