Why is this person the Wingman of Choice? Master Sgt. Sims is a senior noncommissioned officer that emulates professionalism with a "can-do" attitude with all he is given. He has been instrumental in directing 373rd TRS manning support documents providing Air Education Training Command with accurate information for the new hiring process. During his first five months on station, he balanced the legacy hiring system with designated special duty hiring for thesquadron and was able to coordinate with AETC enlisted assignments branch (A1KA) to create and track 21 equal Plus job advertisements encompassing 11 Air Force career fields. These efforts ensured instructor vacancies were filled on time, which facilitates 20 GSU's abilities to maintain their advanced skills training program without interruption. He scrutinized our manning documents to align AAC 50 expiration dates with the current DSD cycle, providing AETC/A1KA a listing of 70 instructor vacancies 0from September 2013 through March 2014. Since that time, 23 instructors have been hired through DSD. Additionally, Sergeant Sims has taken on the squadron's self-inspection program and has mastered the management internal control toolset database. He has tracked all self-inspections for headquarters and all 20 of our GSU's, guaranteeing 100 percent MICT implementation across the squadron. Lastly, due to his expertise and abilities, Sergeant Sims was selected as a Wing Inspection Team member. All of the above, coupled with his off-duty community involvement in his local church warrants his recognition of his stellar efforts. He has been a tremendous asset to our squadron during the short eight month's he's been here thus far. Commander's comments: According to Maj. Jeff Beard, 373 TRS commander, "Master Sgt. Sims is highly deserving of this recognition. He's one of my newest team members and has quickly proven to be my go-to guy. More importantly, for our 20 detachemnts across the globe, Sims is known as the one to call at headquarters for assistance. Sims exhibits the highest example of a servant leader. He manages my operations flight, commander self-inspection program, MICT and if he wasn't busy enough, he's become a very respected member of the 82nd TRW inspector general wing inspection team as well as Wing Master Resiliency Trainer. Sims is making an impact across the wing. We are all fortunate and are better for having him part of wing."
