Sheppard's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) office planned several activities for the month of April to combat sexual assault and related crimes by promoting prevention and awareness through special activities and public education during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).

This year's theme for SAAM, "Live Our Values: Step up to Stop Sexual Assault," brings the focus back to our Air Force Core Values and challenges all (Big "A") Airmen to take personal responsibility in combating sexual assault.

The SAPR office will host the events for the month as follows:

Awareness Ribbons at Gates, April 1-30

SAAM Kick-Off Pancake Breakfast at the Solid Rock Cafe, April 2 from 0700-0900: Signing of the Proclamation will be at 0730. Pancake breakfast will be $5 per person and include pancakes, juice, and coffee. Proceeds will go to support SAAM events and 25% will go to the Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF).

Traveling SAPR Awareness Table every Wednesday in April

Sex Signals (3 Presentations) at the 80th OG Auditorium, April 25 showing at 0700, 0930, & 1300: Parking will be limited. Bus transportation will be provided and is encouraged. More information to come.

SAAM & Month of the Military Child 5K Color Run, April 26 start time at 0800 at the Pitsenbarger Fitness Center

Additionally, we will have victim advocates and the SAPR office out at the gates on 18 April to increase awareness and pass out SAPR items.

The SAPR mission takes center stage this month with the ambition to help all Team Sheppard personnel champion the culture of being a good Wingman, becoming active bystanders, and making good choices. We hope to see you at our events throughout the month.
