AF Assistance Fund kicks off Mar. 24 Published March 12, 2014 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Air Force Assistance Fund kicks off here Mar. 24 - May 2, 2014. The AFAF, one of only two official fundraisers, is a six week campaign that aims to provide support to Air Force personnel and their families. The donations collected will go to the Air Force Village, Air Force Aid Society, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation and the Air Force Enlisted Village. Sheppard's 2014 fundraising goal is $79,017. Last year, Sheppard's goal was $85,345, but ended up collecting almost $99,000. Unit project officers will be reaching out to each unit as part of the campaign. This year's organizers are Capt. Yonca Nice, 82nd Security Forces Squadron and Senior Master Sgt.
