Equipment manager is commander's wingman of choice Published Jan. 13, 2014 By 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Barry Alcorn, an 82nd Training Wing equipment custodian from Stanford, Ky., has been selected as the commander's wingman of choice for the Dec. 27 week. He has spent nine years on Sheppard and enjoys fitness, reading and Christian music. The 82nd Training Wing "Commander's Wingman of Choice" award program is the commander's way of acknowledging Airmen for a job well done and to recognize Airmen who exemplify the spirit of the program. Criteria for consideration include outstanding duty performance, community involvement and exemplary leadership. Family: Wife: Jennifer Alcorn, daughter: Shekinah Green and son: LaMar Alcorn Education: Pursuing a bachelors's degree in human resource management, with a minor in christian ministry at Wayland Baptist University. What inspires you: Serving God and being involved with my church, spending time with my family and helping others in need. Future goals: My wife and I want to own our own business and have our dream home built here in Wichita Falls. Greatest accomplishment: Completing 26 years of dedicated military service. Staying married for 31 years to the greatest gift I could have ever have been blessed with while raising two wonderful children. Why is this person the Wingman of Choice? He was selected for the wing-level tiger team and provided a baseline for a Department of Defense audit. He maintains squadron weapons and accounted for 326 weapons worth $146,000 and participated during the squadron Relay for Life fundraiser. Commander's name and comments: According to Major Kim M.
