Sheppard implements "Trusted Traveler Policy" Published Jan. 7, 2014 SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- On December 24, 2013 the 82nd Security Forces Squadron (SFS) implemented the Trusted Traveler Policy. The policy allows a uniformed service member or Government employee with a valid CAC, a military retiree (with a valid DoD identification credential), or an adult dependent (with a valid DoD identification credential) to present their identification token for verification while simultaneously vouching for any vehicle occupants and escort personnel onto an installation without stopping at Visitor Control Center and/or Main Gate to receive visitor pass. Contractors, Civilian Retiree Card holders, Non-DoD Federal PIV holders, TWIC holders, PIV-I holders, local pass and card holders (with the exception of privatized housing residents, AFOSI, FBI and USSS agents), approved DoD Privilege card holders, Veterans Identification Card holders, and Foreign National Affiliates with a US DoD CAC are NOT authorized escort authority. Above individuals must proceed to the Visitor Control Center and/or Main Gate to receive visitor pass. Escorted individuals must remain in the control of the escort. Escort authority members are not authorized to vouch for non-US individuals (non U.S. citizens/non U.S. permanent resident aliens) to include those with foreign passports or identification credentials. All foreign visitors must have a visitor pass and present it to the entry controller. Escort authority privileges are automatically suspended at FPCON Charlie. Between 2200-0500 hours, 100% ID check will be implemented. The escort is responsible to ensure all vehicle occupants, age 16 and above, have a valid identification card. SFS will incorporate random 100% ID checks as necessary.
