SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --
Senior Airman Gordon
Wright 82nd Training Operations country liaison and native of McDonough, Georgia,
has been in the Air Force for three years and is the Training Operations
Airman of the Week at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for the week of Nov.
15-21, 2016.
Most significant accomplishments:
“I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior,” said
Wright. “I also learned to communicate efficiently and effectively in five
languages and I have finally managed to get my credit score into the 700’s.”
Airman’s story:
“For starters, I am a 22-year-old Georgian from just outside
of Atlanta,” Wright said. “I have been blessed with six older siblings who have
taught me ‘Wright’ from wrong, whether they knew it or not. I have an
overwhelming passion to see both myself as well as those around me succeed in
all aspects of their lives. My two most lofty goals are to be an interpreter
for the United Nations and to be an honorable and positively striking force for
the LGBT community.”

“Senior Airman Wright is a country liaison officer for
International Military Student Office, who is responsible for the acculturation
and smooth transition of 380 international students from 38 countries attending
technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base annually,” said Ralf Taylor,
International Military Student Officer. “He is a true Air Force ambassador who
builds bridges and partnerships with international students while changing
their hearts and minds. Senior Airman Wright consistently performs his duties
in an exemplary and highly professional manner leaving a lasting impression to
all international military students that he comes in contact with.”
