MEMORANDUM FOR EMPLOYEES AND PATRONS OF EOD/CDDAR TRAINING ANNEX

FROM: 82 AMDS/CC
149 Hart St Bldg 1200
Sheppard AFB, TX 76311

SUBJECT: Boil Water Notice for Sheppard AFB, Potable Water System (PWS) ID 2430007, Wichita Falls, Texas

1. In accordance with the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Sheppard AFB is issuing a boil water notice for the employees and patrons of the EOD/CDDAR Training Annex, Sheppard AFB, TX 76311, effective 01 Apr 13. On 01 Apr 13, a water line broke causing pressure in the service lines to drop below 20 pounds per square inch (psi). Defense Support Services are conducting the required repairs and will place the system back into service when complete. The Bioenvironmental Engineering Office will collect water samples to assess the state of the water quality, and future actions (if required). Once these follow up actions are complete, we will either extend or rescind this notice as appropriate to maintain the health and safety of the base population. Until then, please follow the recommendations below to ensure your water is safe for consumption.

2. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, a discontinue notice will be issued in the same manner as this notice, i.e. email, base paper, public delivery to key facilities.

3. If you have any questions please contact TSgt Holt or A1C Austin at the extension 676-3080.
