Kirkland Bioenvironmental Engineering Sheppard AFB TX -- MEMORANDUM FOR EMPLOYEES AND PATRONS OF BUILDING 2116 and 2118 FROM: 82 AMDS/SGPB 149 Hart St. Bldg 1200 Sheppard AFB, TX 76311 SUBJECT: Boil Water Rescind Notice for Sheppard AFB, Potable Water System (PWS) ID 2430007, Wichita Falls, Texas 1. On 2 Aug 12, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) directed Sheppard AFB PWS to issue a boil water notification for Bldg 2116 (Pilot Issue) and 2118 (Security Forces), Sheppard AFB, TX 76311. The notification was to inform the patrons of Bldg 2116 and 2118 that on 1 Aug 12, Defense Support Services was required to turn off the water to perform routine maintenance. This caused the water pressure in the building to drop below 20 psi. (Defense Support Services was able to conduct the required repairs and restore pressure above 20 psi). 2. In an effort to maintain the health and safety of the base population, the Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight collected representative water samples from Bldg 2116 and 2118 to determine the current state of the water quality. These samples were analyzed by a state certified laboratory confirming that the water supply to the building is safe to drink. 3. Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and will provide TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling. 4. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experience during this time and thank you for your patience while we resolved this issue.
