Bavarian Meats have recalled approximately 1,400 pounds of Bavarian Brand Loaf products due to a known soy allergen not declared on the product label.

The product is a lunch meat of pork and veal. The product also contains soy lecithin which is used as a releasing agent to coat the loaf pans prior to adding the product when baking.

These products were distributed to wholesale and retail locations in Hawaii, Wash., Ore., and Idaho. Public Health confirmed Sheppard AFB facilities do not carry these products for sale and no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

The company has received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. Customers can return the items to the store where they were purchased for a refund.

If you have any questions about the recall contact Lynn Hofstatter at 206-448-3540 or the 82nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron public health flight at 940-676-1874 or 940-676-3052.
