On March 11, 2016, Nestlé voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of DiGiorno® Pizzas, Lean Cuisine® and Stouffer’s® Products because they have the potential to contain glass. Nestle believes the source of the glass is in the spinach that was an ingredient common to the products subject to this recall.

Foreign material such as glass that is found in products that require consumption can be very hazardous. Small pieces of glass can go unseen in products and can cause severe damage to the inside of the body if consumed.

The recalled products were available for purchase nationwide in many retail stores. A list of the recalled Nestlé products is available on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration page http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm490200.htm  Consumers are advised not to consume the products and contact Nestlé Consumer Services at 1-800-681-1676.

Public Health confirmed that Sheppard AFB facilities DO NOT carry these products on base. Consumers who have questions about the recall should contact Roz O’Hearn at 1-800-681-1676 or contact the 82d AMDS Public Health Flight at (940) 676-3052/1874.
