Bausch & Lomb Recall: PeroxiClear Peroxide Solution

Bausch & Lomb, a Greenville Solutions Plant, is recalling 4,652,822 units of PeroxiClear 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning & Disinfecting Solution. The voluntary recall was initiated due to reports of burning and stinging. The burning and stinging effect was a result of excess residual levels of hydrogen peroxide.

 

PeroxiClear 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning & Disinfecting Solution can be used for daily cleaning, removal of protein deposits, disinfection, and primarily for storage of soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses, and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

 

While this recall represents low risk to the consumer and is unlikely to cause serious health consequences, continued use of the product could lead to more serious health problems. For a full list of products affected by this recall, please visit their website at www.bausch.com.

Public Health confirmed that Sheppard AFB facilities DOES carry these products for sale. These products have been reported and removed off the shelves.
