Staff Sgt. Matthew Carr, 361st Training Squadron aircraft metals tech apprentice course student, adjusts his machines settings at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, July 18, 2018. Carr is getting his machine ready to "turn" a piece of metal as part of his training. "Turning" means to reduce the size of a piece. Before he can do so, Carr has to make sure his measurements are accurate. One small mistake and the piece will turn out oval instead of circle. Having a misshaped piece could cause major problems for the aircraft it will be going on, so each student must be diligent and a perfectionist.
