  • Herwig-Mendoza earns PACE Leadership award with round-table format

    Audrey Herwig-Mendoza, an 82nd Training Wing Training Operations Faculty Development instructor and 2017 Profession of Arms Center of Excellence Leadership Impact Award recipient, started a program at Sheppard AFB that took on the form of a Socratic discussion in which participants joined in open-ended dialogue that required the members to listen to others, think critically and form their own thoughts on a subject.
  • Fostering unity leads to PACE award for Turner

    Lt. Col. Jason Turner, 80th OSS commander, said leadership at the flight level was outstanding and very much engaged with getting the mission accomplished when he arrived here in 2016. But as with any machine, a little fine tuning has to take place to make sure it runs smoothly. The changes made under Turners leadership led the roughly 19-year Air Force veteran to be named a recipient of the 2017 Profession at Arms Center of Excellence and Air University Leadership Institute Leadership Impact Award.
  • Incremental changes lead to PACE award for Cok

    Lt. Col. Mitchell Cok, 88th Fighter Training Squadron commander, used that approach to influence an adjustment within the squadron that places an emphasis on developing its people, which led to the 18-year Air Force veteran to be selected as a 2017 PACE Leadership Impact Award recipient.
