    Thirteenth Congressional District Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) and Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz submitted the documents in their respective chambers – House Resolution 728 and Senate Resolution 424 – on Oct. 20, 2021. The resolutions recognize the dedication of the installation on Oct. 17, 1941, as well as the creation of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program on Oct. 23, 1981.
  • MDG shines during Ready Eagle exercise

    The 82nd Medical Group wrapped up a week-long training program to hone their medical readiness skills Sept. 17, 2021, with a mass casualty exercise.
  • Former wing commanders share perspectives of 9/11 for 20th Anniversary

    To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, the commanders of the 82nd Training Wing and 80th Flying Training Wing returned to Sheppard for a special video project. Retired Maj. Gen. Michael Collings, 82nd TRW commander from July 2001 to February 2002, and retired Lt. Gen. Ralph Jodice II, 80th FTW commander from July 2001 to August 2003, shared their memories and experiences of the day that shook and united a country.
  • New 2nd AF commander ready to train, develop, lead Airmen of tomorrow

    The 2nd Air Force’s newest commander, Maj. Gen. Michele C. Edmondson, completed her first official visit to the largest technical training wing in the Air Force, Aug. 25, 2021, giving her an opportunity to witness real-time training and observe the newest technology used to train today’s Airmen for tomorrow’s Air Force.
  • Drew takes command of 82nd TRW, set to develop Airmen AF needs

    Brig. Gen. Lyle K. Drew took command of 82nd Training Wing, the largest and most diverse of the four technical wings in Air Education and Training Command and Air Force, during a change of command ceremony here. Maj. Gen. Andrea D. Tullos, 2nd Air Force commander, officiated the ceremony.

    Col. Daniel W. Lemon took command of the 782nd Training Group, while Col. Loren B. Graham handed over the guidon after three years in the leadership position. Brig. Gen. Kenyon K. Bell, 82nd Training Wing commander, officiated the ceremony.

    The 82nd Mission Support Group welcomed its new leader July 7, 2021, during a ceremony that saw Col. Charles “Andy” St.Sauver take command, replacing Col. Joshua DeMotts. Brig. Gen. Kenyon K. Bell, 82nd Training Wing commander, officiated the ceremony.

  • BHM culminates with Booker T. Washington visit

    The 82nd Training Group hosted students from Booker T. Washington Elementary School on May 14, 2021, as part of their Black History Month visit which was cancelled in February due to the winter storm affecting most of Texas.
