Phone - 676-0365 · Hotline - 676-7272 · Bldg. 920

The Sheppard AFB Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program (SAPR) actively commits to the safety and well-being of all Airmen, Adult Dependents and AF civilian members assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base.

Sexual assault is a crime and can be very traumatic for a victim of sexual assault. Sexual assault is defined as intentional sexual contact characterized by use of force, threats, intimidation, or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent. Sexual assault includes rape, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, abusive sexual contact, forcible sodomy (forced oral or anal sex), or attempts to commit these acts.

For sexual assault reporting options, click here.

Special Victims' Counsel provides sexual assault victims with advice, advocacy, and empowers victims through independent resources. If you would like more information, contact your SAPR office at 940-676-0365 or SVC Regional Main Office directly at comm. 210-671-4748 or DSN 473-4748.

Another option to seek assistance is through the Department of Defense Safe Helpline. Special Victims' Counsel

As part of a larger Air Force program to combat sexual assault, the JAG Corps has worked to find ways to support the goals of the Air Force in combating sexual assault.  The purpose of the SVC Program is to provide advice, provide advocacy, and empower victims through independent legal representation.

What SVCs do for sexual assault victims:

-- Represent victims of sexual assault in a confidential, attorney-client

relationship

-- Provide independent legal advice throughout the investigation and

military justice processes

-- Attend interviews and advocate on behalf of our clients to investigators,

trial counsel, defense counsel, and commanders

-- Empower our clients to ensure their voice is heard and protect their

privacy interests

Who does the SVC work for? You!

SVC does not work for anyone on your base. The chain of command is an independent office in D.C.

How can you request an SVC?

Contact your local SAPR, FAP or Legal office; or contact one of the Goodfellow Air Force Base area SVCs.
