Nyquist aces aircraft fuel systems course Published June 21, 2018 By John Ingle 82nd Training Wing Public Affairs SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Airman 1st Class Chad Nyquist, a 361st Training Squadron aircraft fuels systems apprentice course student, earned an ACE award June 21, 2018, after he made a 100 on the final test of the course. Nyquist and other Airmen in the 36-day course learn basic maintenance fundamentals, aircraft fuel systems operations, fuel tank entry, fuel cell familiarization and integral fuel tank familiarization. Aircraft fuel systems Airmen are required to climb inside fuel cells to inspect and detect issues within the bladders as well as perform installation and removal procedures. Nyquist will graduate from the course June 22, 2018.
