51 Sheppard Airmen selected for promotion to E-5

SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas – Fifty-one senior airmen from Sheppard AFB were selected for promotion as part of the 2019 Staff Sergeant Promotion Cycle.

In all, the Air Force selected 14,235 senior airmen for promotion out of an eligible group of 29,179 for a promotion rate of 48.79 percent. The official list was released Aug. 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. CDT.

The following Sheppard Airmen were selected for promotion to E-5 from the 82nd Training Wing include Senior Airmen Cesar Alvarado, Carla Arias-Salas, Patrick Asbell, Zachary Billingham, Hagen Brooks, Javier Carrillo, Janine Casey, Rebekah Coutts, Nicole Cullens, Amber Davis, Shaun Gann, Matthew Graves, Tonisha Green, Jasmine Guillen, Hunter Gwin, Kylan Hicks, Jaebeom Hwang, and Dylan Jack.

Also selected from the 82nd TRW include Senior Airmen Chance Kelley, Haleigh Knox, Brett Kozlowski, Katrina Marquardt, Louis Mata, Robert McIlrath, Klement Monroe, DiJanae Moody, Jared Powers, Darren Purkey, Nathanael Rager, Krista Redus, Gilberto Reyesmora, Allison Schutte, Bayle Smith, David Tovar, Teresa Tracy, Curtis Trice, Jordan Turnbaugh, Ian Velazquez, Tyler Wallace and Christian ZamarripaTorres.

Eleven Airmen from the 80th Flying Training Wing were also selected for promotion to staff sergeant. Those selected include Senior Airmen Tyler Beals, Stewart Conkwright, Kiana Herbert, Christopher Jackson, Anna Lovell, Quinton Montgomery, Robert Moreno, Alex Rodriguez, Sean Smith, James Whitney and Bayli Wood.

Selectees’ average time in grade was 1.60 years and time in service was 4.07 years. The average selectee overall score was 345.67, based on point averages of 210.75 for enlisted performance reports, 0.73 for decorations, 66.97 for the promotion fitness examination and 66.43 for the specialty knowledge test. 

The staff sergeant promotion list is available on the Enlisted Promotions page of the Air Force’s Personnel Center website, the Air Force Portal and myPers. Airmen can access their score notices on the virtual Military Personnel Flight via the AFPC secure applications page. 

Those selected will be promoted beginning Sept. 1, according to their promotion sequence number. Prior to posting the list, AFPC provided commanders, senior raters and trusted agents with advanced knowledge of their Airmen’s selection.
